About UsVersailles, Kentucky,
Heart of the Bluegrass Region and Horse Capital of the World--quite a
moniker for a small town, but one well-deserved. We are centrally
located between the localities: 7 miles to Bluegrass Airport, 10 miles
to Lexington, 14 to Frankfort, 45 to Bardstown, 50 to Louisville, making
us the perfect spot to call home while you vacation in our region.
Easily accessed by 7 states we are within a days drive of 2/3 of the
continental US and portions of Canada, too.
What's it
like? Personally I can tell you from experience, as I have lived all
over the country--it is absolutely beautiful here. Driving through the
horse-farm lined by-ways is breath-taking--five years now and I never
tire of it. Their coats glisten in the sun--amazing. The people are a
breed of their own as well--genuine and friendly, warm and it seems
folks in Kentucky are content and happy--it will rub off on you! Coming
from the city, I wondered if I would miss things, but nope, it's pretty
much all here--great restaurants, both the Southern Kentucky fare you
would expect and world-class international cuisine. There is shopping,
music of all realms, culture, history, art and did I mention horses?!?
Incredible creatures, living works of art in and of themselves.
As for the Inn, we hope to embody a bit of all Kentucky has to offer:
-How do you capture the aroma of thick sliced maple bacon wafting up the stairs each morning, or those ooey-gooey caramel chunk cookies baking each afternoon?...The sensation of sliding into those fresh cotton sateen sheets after a long soak in a herb scented jacuzzi tub?
The laughter in the dining room as more than one guest
has been "caught" by another with their "hand in the cookie jar" for
just one more before bed? The serene look on couples faces as they push
away from that last course of a special dinner in that beautiful softly lit dining room surrounded by large palm fronds, warm breezes and enveloped by soft classical music?
- How do you capture he feel of the air as the morning mist lifts off the neighboring pastures?
-How do you describe the camaraderie many enjoy as they browse our movie, book, magazine and board game selection
or take in a football game in the media room,
or strike up a conversation over a cool drink on the large wrap around porch
or across the tables over a hearty breakfast?
Our hospitality is heartfelt, and we think you will enjoy Kentucky and the Bluegrass Region just as much as we do!
