Kentucky State Capitol
Frankfort's Capitol and Historic District Massive marble stairways modeled after the Paris Grand Opera House rise to the second floor--or the judicial floor. This is where the Supreme Court, the state law library and the state reception room, which was recently restored, are located. Portraits of past state supreme court justices line the grand halls which provide an expansive view of other areas of the building. The Supreme Court chambers, the most expensive room in the capitol, cost $25,000 when built. The Aviation Museum of Kentucky
The AVIATION MUSEUM of KENTUCKY is located at Blue Grass Airport, Lexington. Headley-Whitney Museum
George W. Headley III (1908-1985) studied art at the Art Student's League in New York and l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He later apprenticed as a designer with the New York Jeweler Paul Flato in the 1930s. In the 1940s, Headley opened his own jewelry boutique in California at the Hotel Bel-Air and cultivated a clientele including such Hollywood celebrities as Fanny Brice, Mae West and Joan Crawford.
After nearly a decade of success on the West Coast, Headley returned to his family farm, La Belle, in Lexington and continued his career designing jewelry and bibelots.
In 1960, Headley married Barbara Whitney Henry Peck (d. 1982), sister of noted thoroughbred horseman Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney (1899-1992) and daughter of the sculptor Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney (d. 1942), founder of New York's Whitney Museum of American Art.
In 1968, Headley opened his distinctive Jewel Room and Library building on the scenic grounds of La Belle Farm. The museum complex was completed in the 1970's with the addition of the Shell Grotto and the main building. http://www.headley-whitney.org

Nostalgia Station Toy Train Museum & Train Shop
Tucked away in Versailles, this model train and toy museum is a lovely way to spend an hour or so. The owners have quite a variety of model trains, split into pre- and post-WWII rooms. There is a full, working Lionel sales display from the 1950s that they will run when you are done perusing the cases. Even if you are not that into trains, there are a number of beautiful & interesting antique children's toys. Definitely worth a stop! 279 Depot Street.

National Corvette Museum & Assembly Plant
Every Corvette made is produced in Bowling Green, Kentucky.Located off I-65 at Exit 28, across from the National Corvette Museum. For more information call 270-745-8019.
The Corvette Assembly Plant charges a $7 fee per person to tour the plant. An online reservation system is now open, and you can purchase your tickets in advance. The tour fee was implemented to help offset some of the costs of the tour and to upgrade the tour process.
Mementos are given out at the end of the tour to commemorate the tour experience. GM Employees and retirees, active military and school group children - third through eighth grade will continue to be permitted to tour the plant at no cost.

Since 1988, Toyota’s Kentucky team has been building quality vehicles in the Bluegrass state. Today, “TMMK” is the largest Toyota plant outside of Japan. Each year in Georgetown, nearly 7,000 team members build about 500,000 vehicles and engines.
