World Equestrian Game Wrap Up

What an amazing 16 days!  Folks from all over the country and around the globe arrived at the ca1911 Montgomery Inn BnB to experience the World Equestrian Games 2010 held for the first time in the US here in Lexington, KY.

The automatic comaraderie was amazing with everyone, whether participant, volunteer or spectator, sharing that one phenomenal love of horses.  Breakfast began at 5am each day for the early risers--wasn't sure I could keep up the pace but it flowed easily and for those who could linger we served well into the morning.  Again in the afternoons we greeted the returning guests and new arrivals with a luscious buffet reception of vino, cheeses, chocolates and other tempting morsels which led into a hearty supper each night featuring homemade chowders, soups and salads with hot bread.  Friendships were formed and it was a truly jovial atmosphere.

All reports coming back from the days' events were magnificent!  The performances, the hospitality, the beauty of the Kentucky Horse Park, a treat to experience and for most a once in a lifetime chance.  I am thrilled to have been a small part of it.  There were many teary goodbyes but I hope to see each of you again!
