Out shoveling our driveways and parking lot this morning, the girls and I had a blast "playing" in the light fluffy blanket of freshly lain snow. It was so beautiful and crisp, I was almost sad to be finished with our "work". We only stopped for a brief warm up and some yummy Cafe dú Monde with a little of that caramel machiatta cream I brought home yesterday. Our Inn is hosting a lovely group of women today, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. With the Jack Jouett House just up the road and some of the descendents being regulars of ours, and our good friend Daniel actually living in Liberty Hall over in Frankfort where three signors of the Declaration dined in one evening, it seems fitting that they grace our doors although our building was 135 years later in conception. Amazing how history can still come to life for us. I think I like that. |
